How is modal made?
Modal production begins with extracting pulp from wood. The pulp is chemically processed into a spinning solution, which is then passed through fine nozzles to form fibres. These fibres are washed, dried and spun into yarns. The yarns are used to create fabrics for garments such as soft, comfortable underwear. We source our modal and MicroModal® fibres from Lenzing, which uses beechwood pulp as the raw material.
